Getdown Services Release New Single ‘Eat Quiche, Sleep, Repeat’
Announce New EP ‘Primordial Slot Machine’
Released 6th June By Breakfast Records
UK & Europe Headline Tour Announced
Including Islington Assembly Hall on 10th November
‘Eat Quiche, Sleep, Repeat’ is the new single from Bristol’s inimitable Getdown Services and is the first track to be revealed from upcoming EP ‘Primordial Slot Machine’, due for release on 6th June by Breakfast Records. The collection features six tracks and perfectly demonstrates why the pair - childhood best mates Josh Law and Ben Sadler - are fast becoming one of the UK’s most loved bands.
Their observations of modern life in Britain, delivered with laser-sharp wit and set against completely irresistible tunes are proving a runaway hit with music fans all over the world. Not only are the pair proving themselves as uniquely talented as musicians and producers but also skilled writers, with an innate and rare ability to strike the perfect balance between humour and pathos.
The new single, as the duo explain, is a continuation of the self-reflective themes of last year’s ‘Your Medal’s In The Post’
"This song is about accepting there’s a chance our bitterness won’t ever fully go away. Trying to wrap your head round the idea of learning to manage things as opposed to getting rid. We’ve spent most of our lives thinking one day we’ll somehow become these happy go lucky positive members of society and this song is about accepting that maybe we won’t and maybe we don’t have to. Maybe we’ll be fine as we are: Happy a lot of the time but always at least Semi-Miserable."
‘Primordial Slot Machine’ will also be released on vinyl with last year’s ‘Your Medal’s In The Post’ EP, which includes BBC 6Music playlisted ‘Dog Dribble’ and capped off a remarkable 2024 for the band. Sell out tours across the UK and Europe and a set at Green Man that catapulted them to the status of festival favourites. This year, they play Glastonbury, End of the Road, The Great Escape, Wide Awake and Live at Leeds, to name a few.
Alongside the single release and EP announcement, Getdown Services have also announced a huge UK headline tour, including their biggest show to date at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on 10th November. They also play a sold out show at The Dome in Tufnell Park on 29th May. Full tour dates across the UK and Europe are listed below.
